UPDATE! 25 Oct 2010

It is with great sadness that I write this update. On the 25th October 2010 my little sister sadly passed away at the age of 31. She had bravely battled MND for 11 years. She had never given up and had achieved to much even after developing MND, winning the Open University award for achievement to gaining a degree. She will be greatly missed and will for ever be in our thoughts. Love you sis :D

Well where to start, it was all originally done as I was carry to much weight and wanted to loose it. Which I am sure it most peoples story begins, however after loosing the weight I actually started to enjoy running outside. Joined some forums (BCTTT & Runners World), there inspiration and helpfullness has helped me a lot. Now I am also swimming and commuting a couple of times a week to work on my bike! Now since 2011 I accomplished more than I thought I ever would or could. From 5k runs to an Ironman in 2014 and The Outlaw in 2015. In 2016 I am going down a different route, I will be trying Ultra's as you can see from my events I have already entered 3 so far. Now I thought wait a minute I need to have one more motivation and that people is my sister Emma. Since the age of 20 she was very unfortunate and developed MND (Motor Neurone Disease), she is now 31 years of Age. Her health has deteriatated over the years and we nearly lost her last year. My mum had to give up her work and become a full time carer for my sister and my dad takes over the duties when he comes home from work. All the races I do will be in aid of my sister and all money raised will be donated to MND to help raise awareness and research in the disease. Thanks for all your help and enjoy my training blog,

Got a NEW bike

Well it has been a busy time over the course of a few weeks with work and training. Have managed to do a few outside 5K's with no serious pain. I do have some at the moment, yeah yeah more stretching etc is needed. I feel like I should be able to bend in any direction lol.

I have been enjoying the Glasgow Tri swim sessions on the Tuesdays. I do feel as though I am getting better, my main stumbling point would be my breathing, must remember to exhale under water! my pool mate pro watch went walkies last week..........grrrrr and no-one handed it in. Looks as though it has been stolen. Need to invest in another not bloody good. Went last week also to a total body workout class, I was not just knackered at the end of it but I was sore very sore at the end of it all my quads, calves, hamstrings and arms etc were all worked hard. Felt the results the next day when everything was sore to move lol.

The weekend there I made a journey down to Bridgtown Cycles to see Mike and his wife Kate. There were exceptional in their help to get me bike fitted. Spent over 3hrs there getting myself all fitted for "the" bike. Was put in a sorts of positions to see what my flexibility was. Then I forgot to bring my cycling gear left at hotel DUH!!. Luckily Mike had something I could borrow on it went and on the bike I went to see get the rest of the fitting done. There was lots to be done. Eventually they succeeded and I was on the verge of buying my first TT bike. When I say on the verge those lovely people at Tesco CC declined the payment, they were phoned and explained the situation to but they said they did not want to speak to the card holder and just said it had been declined and hung up!!!!!!!!!!! I spent the next 30mins trying to get through to get this authorised, I was well peeved by this point. Eventually I did and I have my new Trek Speed Concept 7.5. It is a thing of beauty Cannot wait to "ride" her for the first time ;)
