UPDATE! 25 Oct 2010

It is with great sadness that I write this update. On the 25th October 2010 my little sister sadly passed away at the age of 31. She had bravely battled MND for 11 years. She had never given up and had achieved to much even after developing MND, winning the Open University award for achievement to gaining a degree. She will be greatly missed and will for ever be in our thoughts. Love you sis :D

Well where to start, it was all originally done as I was carry to much weight and wanted to loose it. Which I am sure it most peoples story begins, however after loosing the weight I actually started to enjoy running outside. Joined some forums (BCTTT & Runners World), there inspiration and helpfullness has helped me a lot. Now I am also swimming and commuting a couple of times a week to work on my bike! Now since 2011 I accomplished more than I thought I ever would or could. From 5k runs to an Ironman in 2014 and The Outlaw in 2015. In 2016 I am going down a different route, I will be trying Ultra's as you can see from my events I have already entered 3 so far. Now I thought wait a minute I need to have one more motivation and that people is my sister Emma. Since the age of 20 she was very unfortunate and developed MND (Motor Neurone Disease), she is now 31 years of Age. Her health has deteriatated over the years and we nearly lost her last year. My mum had to give up her work and become a full time carer for my sister and my dad takes over the duties when he comes home from work. All the races I do will be in aid of my sister and all money raised will be donated to MND to help raise awareness and research in the disease. Thanks for all your help and enjoy my training blog,

Really that cloooooooooooooooooose

Well it is getting very close to D-Day, so much so that I think I am starting to panic. Just over 10 weeks and I will be at the start line. My training has been increased, mostly on the bike think I am doing over a 100 miles a week on the bike at the moment ( which is over 3 days). At last the weather is starting to look good so I have been enjoying the fresh air rather than the walls of a house. It is not just all training that I am doing though, I still have a couple of events to look forward to before IMUK as you can see below.

Before that though there is a couple of other races that I have lined up.

11th May - Etape Caledonia

The Marie Curie Cancer Care Etape Caledonia is generally regarded as the UK’s leading sportive and each year welcomes over 5,500 cyclists to the beautiful town of Pitlochry, Scotland. With the 81 mile course taking in some of the most breathtaking views the Scottish Highlands has to offer, as well as a festival atmosphere to look forward to at the finish line, it’s a must do for both cycling enthusiasts and first timers looking to experience the thrill of riding on completely closed roads in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

1st June - Outlaw Half Ironman

The legend of the Outlaw is well established in triathlon folklore, and then the Outlaw Half burst onto the scene for 2013 and sold out in just a few days.
The 2014 Outlaw Half is all set for 01 June 2014. It features the same high quality organisation as the Outlaw, but covers half the distance.
Have you got what it takes to outwit the Sheriff to complete a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run in less than eight and a half hours?
The start, the swim, much of the run and the finish are all conveniently located together, making excellent spectator viewing at the National Water Sports Centre.
The swim takes place in the regatta lake. A single out and back course makes it easy to navigate. Then make a super-quick escape onto your bike. The roads around Nottingham offer great surfaces for fast riding and only the odd short climb to challenge you. The bike course will be fast, but don't underestimate it - especially if it's a windy day!
On returning to the National Water Sports Centre the multi-lap course around the lake and river path offers a feed station every mile or so, and is lined with supporters willing you all the way to the finish line.
